New Aviat CTR 8380 All-Outdoor Router for Microwave Networks

The new Aviat Networks CTR 8380 converges microwave and IP/MPLS functionalities into a single compact device for all-outdoor deployments and is the only outdoor router on the market with integrated microwave capability.

CTR 8380’s zero footprint design lowers site costs by eliminating the need for shelters or cabinets, reducing air conditioning requirements and lowering power and fuel consumption. CTR 8380 is also ideal for rooftop locations for delivery of enterprise services and well suited for all-outdoor macrocell and small cell backhaul.

As a router, CTR 8380 extends IP/MPLS to the cell site, improving network scalability, lowering costs and enabling new IP-based VPN services. Because router and microwave functions are integrated into a single box, the network performs better and there are fewer devices to buy, deploy and maintain, which is critical for all-outdoor deployments.
