Palma International and Soliton announce the Smart-telecaster Zao rental program at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
Palma International and Soliton have announced the Smart-telecaster Zao rental program for TV broadcasters at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The rental program is a complete global support package including the Zao H.265 mobile encoder, HD View software, six 4G local modems and credible technical support on site. The Smart-telecaster Zao has been extensively tested in Brazil and has achieved unprecedented high quality digital video even in the most challenging locations. Testing at the principal sites of the RIO 2016 Olympic games, including Maracanã and Engenhão Stadiums, Olympic Park, Marina da Gloria, Christ the Redeemer, and the Sambodromo has yielded exceptional results.
The Smart-telecaster Zao is ideally designed for mobile streaming, live sports and journalism applications, connecting up to 6 mobile modems for transmission of high quality real-time video streaming over networks of IP-based transmission such as 3G, 4G / LTE / WiFi and BGAN. The inclusion of the H.265/HEVC video compression standard ensures efficient and robust transmission even in localities with extremely limited bandwidth. The proprietary RASCOW technology provides unprecedented stability in image transmission, even under network congestion or weak network signals and provides dedicated bandwidth for audio. Zao has proven to be ideal for 3G/4G networks in Brazil and will provide a distinct advantage for broadcasters who will be in competition for bandwidth.
Partner Foccus Digital is coordinating site investigation opportunities in Rio de Janeiro for international broadcasters between April 1st– July 31st 2016 and rentals between August 1st-22nd during the Olympic season. Smart-telecaster Zao units are available for demonstration in Brazil through Foccus Digital and in Latin America through Palma International Technology.
